The pace of the holidays can become intense, and after filling up your social calendar with holiday parties, family gatherings and long shopping lists, you may find yourself wanting to spend more time at home relaxing and enjoying a few good laughs on your couch. Carve out time to watch hilarious, fun and heartwarming holiday movies this season, from the comfort of your own home. You can invite over friends and whip up a batch of homemade egg nog to go with it, or enjoy a quiet night at home alone with just yourself and Will Ferrell dressed as an elf. Either way, you'll be glad you did!

Here are 10 holiday movies we recommend you watch this season. You'll get the laughs, the tears and all the good feelings you need to help you get through the holiday season with more joy and even some glee.

If you have never witnessed Will Ferrell in a full sized elf costume, parading around New York City, then now is the time. When stress and hectic schedules start to make you feel bogged down, lighten your mood with this hilarious, fun and even sweet comedy about the true spirit of Christmas.

Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas
You've probably watched the original movie version of Dr. Seuss's classic tale about the Grinch, but have you watched the live version, starring Jim Carrey? Quirky, funny and filled with amazing costumes, makeup and design, you'll love cozying up with warm cocoa and watching the Grinch come to life (and grow his heart).

A Charlie Brown Christmas
This classic movie features all of your favorite characters, including Charlie Brown and his usual tales of woe. This year is the movie's 50th anniversary, and a perfect time to bring back your favorite moments from your favorite childhood christmas movie.

Love Actually
Somehow, this movie always manages to bring on the waterworks, with its perfect blend of romance, comedy and drama, as well as uplifting music and hilarious plot twists. Gather your friends, family or neighbors and cozy up on a cold night to watch your most beloved actors and actresses bring this remarkable story about love and hope to life.

This classic, cult favorite movie reimagines Dickens' A Christmas Carol storyline into modern times, and stars Bill Murray for ultimate comedic effect. As hilarious as it is heartwarming, you'll enjoy watching this movie with a mug filled with egg nog and a group of your favorite friends.

A Christmas Story
You'll never look at the word FRAGILE the same again after watching this christmas classic set in the 1940s. Ralphie's hilarious adventures, his father's leg lamp, his mother's cooking and his bumbling little brother make this comedy a fun watch for you or your group of movie-loving friends.

Bad Santa
Bad Santa is certainly not your typical christmas movie, and it may not be appropriate for your kids, but it will have you laughing and laughing hard. Sometimes hilariosly rude and even offenseive (we warned you!), Bad Santa is a perfect movie for the grinches in your life who aren't charmed by typical holiday movies and traditions.

The Muppet Christmas Carol
The Muppet's version of Dickens' classic story, A Christmas Carol, is uproariously funny, sweet and action-packed. Muppets fans will love watching their favorite characters reimagine this classic tale, and kids will enjoy getting into the spirit with Kermit and Miss Piggy.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
It wouldn't be the holidays without the Griswolds and their crazy antics on "vacation." Once again, the Griswold's best laid plans turn into complete, ridiculous disaster that is hilarious to watch, again and again. Gather the family (we don't recommend this movie for small kids) and pour a big glass of eggnog before tuning into this christmas favorite.

Holiday Inn
Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire and Irving Berlin come together in this truly remarkable, timeless classic that will warm the hearts of every one of your family members, young or old.
